Safety Guidelines: Please Read and type "Yes" to Confirm Your Agreement

Never attempt to touch a conscious feral/stray cat. Do not stick fingers into traps or carriers containing cats. Both cats and kittens may bite. Always wear heavy gloves when handling stray or feral cats.

Ensure cats are secured in a carrier or cage at all times during transport. Don't allow any cat to roam free in a vehicle.

Ensure that you understand the operation of any equipment used during trapping and transport to avoid injury to yourself or animals.

Do not open traps or carriers during transport. A cat can easily escape into your car or outside and get lost or killed.

Transport cats directly to their destination, never leaving any animals in an enclosed vehicle alone.

Report all scratches, bites, and escapes to FAN directors first and immediately after they happen. If you should be bitten by a cat (or any animal caught in the trap), the bite should be examined by a doctor within 24 hours.

I understand that working with live animals can involve risk of injury, and I assume all risk associated with my volunteer activities with FAN.

FAN cats are indoor-only and must be kept in a heated and cooled portion of your home at all times, except during transport.

If additional training or information is needed, seek it from one of the FAN directors or their designated assignees.

agree now and always in the future to waive all claims of liability, whether of negligence or any other cause of action, against Feral Affairs Network (FAN), its directors, officers, employees, and volunteers, for any of the followings: Personal injury, property damage, or any other type of harm resulting from my participation as a volunteer in any activities I engage in on behalf of FAN, its directors, officers, employees, or volunteers. These activities include, but are not limited to, the trapping, handling, caretaking, and transporting of feral or stray cats, and the handling or use of equipment related to those activities.

I understand that my participation as a volunteer with FAN is contingent upon my agreeing to this waiver.

I pledge my support of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and will not reveal anything about FAN's efforts to any organization opposed to TNR or practicing cat trapping for any disreputable purpose. I will never privately reveal the locations of any feral cat colonies to anyone or post addresses of general or specific locations of feral cat colonies publicly or on social media.

I agree to maintain confidentiality regarding other volunteers, FAN's rescue practices, paperwork I may see, and any other information deemed internal to FAN.

I have read and fully understand the safety and security precautions and instructions for volunteers. In the event of an emergency, I hereby give permission to FAN to contact the emergency name(s) and number(s) provided on my volunteer application.

I, the undersigned, have read and understand fully my rights and responsibilities as a volunteer of FAN.

In signing this waiver, I acknowledge that feral cats are wild animals and can be unpredictable in their behavior. They are capable of inflicting serious bodily injury. I am willing to assume this risk to participate in Trap-Neuter-Return and/or cat rescue projects on behalf of Feral Affairs Network.
